The Project is the renovation and transformation of an historical building “SUMAHAN” serving as a hotel to a contemporary office building.

The building is situated in Çengelköy, on the waterfront of the Bosphorus on the Asian-side of the city. The architectural design of the office building renovation for ACTERA GROUP was conducted by the Architect Nevzat Sayın.

“SUMAHAN” was a nineteenth century Ottoman distillery, where the high proof ingredient was produced for Rakı, the famous Ottoman liquor. Suma is the word for unadulterated and diluted grape mixture and Han is the word for inn in Ottoman times.

The building consists of three stories and two basements with a total area of 1000 square meters. The second basement opens to a garden at sea level.

Project started in February 2017 and completed at the end of July 2017. The budget of the project was 1.100.000,-USD.
