'ÇUBUKCU HAN' is a 120 year old - 6 story masonry building with one basement, one ground 4 normal floors and a roof floor at Asmalımescit, Beyoğlu, İstanbul.  According to the decision of the owner SEVEN HOTEL SERVICES Co., the building would be transformed into a boutique hotel with revisions in floor and basement plans, with addition of a second basement floor to the building.

According to our design studies the renovation and retrofitting works will be realized in two stages:
1) The new foundation and reinforced concrete skeleton with curtain walls for first and second basement will be realized by Well Foundation Techniques, while protecting the existing upper levels of the building, with additional technical precautions in order to keep it safely standing.

2) The upper floors masonry skeleton will be retrofitted by adding composite concrete floors and curtain walls to the existing system keeping the historical original and strictly obeying the rules and specification of The Protection Board of Historical and Natural Assets.

The Structural Design was completed under the moderation of our company.  The Unique Design and Method of Construction as an example of retrofitting and renovation of old buildings of historical value were also presented in the profession seminars organized by The Turkish Chamber of Civil Engineers.
